PACTUAL’s research team comprises members who are specialists in the scientific field of tourism and possess extensive experience in researching this area.

Noémi Marujo
Research Coordinator
Founding member of ASTO, part of the INSTO network - International Network of Sustainable Tourism Observatories of the World Tourism Organisation - and member of the planning, management and operationalisation team for technical and scientific activities. She has a PhD in Tourism, a master's degree in Sociology from the University of Évora and a degree in Communication Sciences from the University of Beira Interior. She is an Associate Professor at the University of Évora and an integrated researcher at CIDEHUS. She was a member of the Alentejo Tourism Observatory (2010-2015), coordinating the team of researchers from the University of Évora, and has participated in various projects and initiatives over the last fifteen years.

Rosário Borges
Reseracher
Co-founder of ASTO and member of the planning, management and operationalisation team for technical and scientific activities. She holds a PhD in tourism, a master’s in information management and a degree in tourism management and planning (from the University of Aveiro). She is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Évora and an integrated researcher at CIDEHUS, She exercises her professional activity in the field of various matters related to the tourism sector and she has several publications in the field. She joined the Regional Observatory for Tourism in the Alentejo (2010-2015) and also participated in several regional projects .

Joana Lima
Researcher
Co-founder of ASTO and currently a member of the management and scientific team. She holds a Doctorate in Tourism, a Master’s degree in Tourism Management and Development from the University of Aveiro, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Coimbra. Currently, she is an Associate Professor at the University of Évora, integrated researcher at CIDEHUS, collaborates with GOVCOPP, is a member of ISTO’s Alliance for Training and Research in Social and Solidarity Tourism and has several scientific publications in the tourism field.

Jaime Serra
Researcher
Co-founder of ASTO and currently a member of the management and scientific team. He is an Associate Professor at the University of Évora and a researcher at the CIDEHUS research centre.He has a PhD in Tourism from the University of the Algarve, a Master's in Management from the University of Évora and a degree in Tourism Strategy and Management from the Polytechnic Institute of Beja. He was a member of the Alentejo Tourism Observatory (2010-2015), participated in several regional projects and initiatives over the last fifteen years and has several scientific publications.

Antónia Conde
Researcher
She holds a PhD in History (2005) and a Master's degree in Architectural and Landscape Heritage Recovery (1995) from the University of Évora, where she is an Associate Professor with Aggregation. She is a researcher at CIDEHUS and a collaborator of Lab.HERCULES, CEHR and LEM-CERCOR. She participates in several national and international scientific projects, having been a co-responsible or responsible researcher in some of them, and has several publications. Works in the area(s) of History and Cultural Heritage.

Inês Sertório
Researcher
She graduated with a degree in Tourism from the University of Évora in 2022. Currently, she is in her second year of a Master’s degree in Tourism and Development of Destination and Products at the same university. Since July 2023, she has been contributing as a research fellow for the PACTUAL project.

Vitorina Baptista
Researcher
She graduated with a degree in Tourism from the University of Évora in 2022. Currently, she is in her second year of a Master’s degree in Tourism and Development of Destination and Products at the same university. Since July 2023, she has been contributing as a research fellow for the PACTUAL project.

José Carola
Researcher
He graduated with a degree in Tourism from the University of Évora in 2023 and is currently in the first year of his Master’s degree in Tourism and Development of Destination and Products at the same university. During his curricular internship, he contributed to the research and promotional activities of ASTO. Since September 2023, he has been involved in the PACTUAL project as a research fellow
